For those of you I don't know as well, I'm David.
I write this from Philadelphia, where I've been since starting graduate school in 2019, but have lived in Boston, New Hampshire's Upper Valley, Silicon Valley, and CDMX.
These days, I study mental healthcare seeking among young adults, building off the premise that mental health treatment seeking begins with a set of beliefs and attitudes about who is seeking care.
In the mid 2010s, I studied English and Computer Science at Dartmouth College in bucolic New Hampshire, then started a career in tech. Working for IBM as a professional slide maker, content marketer, and events lead after, I realized I wanted to nurture my intellectual capabilities in graduate school.
Outside of work, I enjoy dancing in nature, practicing yoga, getting outside, talking about holistic wellness, watching art cinema, reading popular psychology, getting frozen treats, traveling, and petting strangers' dogs (as I do not have one of my own—yet). Friends and colleagues often describe me as compassionate, hospitable, industrious, curious, insightful, resourceful, and intentional.
I have given you more than you probably expected, but hopefully this gives you a better sense of the stranger on the other side of your screen. I'm on a personal mission to simplify overly-complex systems + processes and make others' lives just a little bit easier.
Let's solve big problems together.
